BABY PUPPY DOG
A very mixed class where fronts were not as good as I would like
1st. Dulke’s & Handley’s - Dewmist Silver Song: Mature and well balanced for
age. Balanced head with correct breadth of skull and good depth and breadth of
muzzle. Excellent pigment. Good shoulder, upper arm and stifle angulation.
Excellent reach of neck. Straight front with neat feet. Good depth and spring of
rib.
2nd. Saunders & Yoshino’s – Yellowfetch Icey U See (AI): Less mature than 1st
and less substance all round. Time is however on his side. Well balanced with an
excellent bend of stifle, otherwise very similar conformation.
3rd. Conyer’s – Goldallure Won Man Show: Equally well balanced as 1st & 2nd .
Less mature needing to deepen in body and tighten in front although he scored
over 4th here.
4th. Lynch’s – Yellowfetch On Ice (AI)
MINOR PUPPY DOG
Class of very unready pups. Movement in all cases was poor. Probably emphasised
by lack of training.
1st. Hanley’s – Sinderby Seduction: Balanced outline, head needing time to
develop but has good pigment and depth of muzzle, expression spoilt by slight
cowlick. Well angulated shoulder & upper arm, moderate bend of stifle. Good
depth and spring of rib, straight front with neat feet.
2nd. Lynch’s – Yellowfetch Feng Shui: Very similar to 1st in confirmation with a
better bend of stifle and excellent reach of neck. Unfortunately only one
testicle in evidence today but this has time to change.
3rd. Dixon’s – Hobsonvale Lawson: Needs to broaden in skull and muzzle. On the
positive side he has a straight front and adequate bend of stifle, but I would
like to see more bone and better front angulation. His slightly long cast loin
will be less noticeable with maturity and hopefully he will acquire greater
depth of rib.
PUPPY DOG
1st. Handley’s – Giltedge Blackwatch: Well balanced body & head. Broad skull
with good depth and breadth of muzzle, lovely dark pigment and eye colour. Very
close scissor bite. Good reach of neck leading to well angulated shoulder and
upper arm with deep well sprung ribs. Correct coupling and well bent stifles
complete the picture.
2nd. Molnar’s – Dobro Basile (AI): Slightly longer made than 1st. Correct
scissor bite but misplaced tooth will do him no favours. Straight front and
level topline, good angulation of shoulder and stifle although I would prefer
more upper arm layback. Rail carriage today on the high side.
JUNIOR DOG
Movement in this class was very poor, specifically the majority moved close
behind and in front and several were either paddling or pinning.
1st. Dulke’s – Fantango After The Reign, CC & RBIS: the only thing I would
change here is that I prefer a slightly darker eye. Well balanced and mature
enough to hold his own in any company. Excellent pigment, very well balanced
strong masculine head with gentle expression. Good reach of neck leading to well
angulated shoulders and upper arms, matched by equally well angulated stifles.
Deep well sprung ribs and level topline, which he held on the move with good
drive and unexaggerated action.
2nd. Molnar’s – Dobro Diamond Edge (AI): Overall a slightly larger framed dog
than 1st, with more length of loin. A balanced head with good eye colour and
pigment. Good reach of neck and adequate angulation both front and rear.
3rd. Smith & Woodcock’s – Stanroph Shared Assets (Imp UK): Similar outline the
previous two dogs but at this time his head lacks balance and as this broadens
his ears will hopefully be more in proportion to the rest. He also needs to
deepen in rib.
4th. Lynch’s – Yellowfetch Renovator Reg : Well balanced dog who would have done
better but was let down by poor front and rear action.
5th. Temple’s – Fantango First Knight : Less mature dog who needs time to fill
his frame and body up.
INTERMEDIATE DOG
A class of very mixed quality
1st. Stuckey’s – Goldkey Medicine Man : Won here on overall balance. Good bone
and a straight front. Head has good breadth of skull and muzzle but lacks
pigment. A good reach of neck leads to well angulated shoulders and upper arm.
He has good depth and spring of rib and a good bend of stifle.
2nd. William’s – Ch Leanr Touched By Frost : I would prefer a stronger head but
pigment was good. A well balanced dog with a straight front. A good reach of
neck leading to well angulated shoulders and upper arm with good depth and
spring of rib, slightly long coupling and a good bend of stifle.
3rd. Jones’ – Jonesh Ritz Carlton (AI): Apart from a slightly long coupling has
a balanced shape but needs more depth and spring of rib to complete the picture.
Gentle expression. His shoulders are well angulated aan upper arm and stifle
angulation are acceptable.
4th. Conyer’s – Goldallure Ready T Rally : Another who still needs to body up.
Well angulated at both ends he has good bone and a good reach of neck. I would
like to see a stronger muzzle and tighter feet.
5th. Clark’s – Ch Perecca Justa Boy Scout : Balanced dog who flies his tail,
again needs more body and more bend of stifle.
AUSTRALIAN BRED DOG
A slightly better class overall.
1st. Kowalski’s – Ambervalley Erik Casimir : Mature dog. I would prefer slightly
more scope in his frame. Balanced head with a strong masculine yet gentle
expression enhanced by excellent pigmentation and eye colour. Straight front and
a good reach of neck, with well angulated shoulders and upper arm, deep well
sprung ribs, well bent stifle and a level topline. Movement OK.
2nd. Lynch’s – Grd Ch Yellowfetch As You Do : Well balanced and mature, he has a
tendency to slope his topline when standing. Straight front and good bone. An
excellent reach of neck well set on to excellent angulation of shoulders and
upper arm matched by equally well bent stifles. Movement was OK.
3rd. Kaspura’s – Taransay Seigfried : Not as mature has a very similar
conformation to the previous two, just needing to deepen. Straight front with
good bone, masculine head with very good bone.
OPEN DOG
1st. Buffalo Kennels’ – Ch Lawnwoods Rustic Rian UD (Imp UK), Res CC : A
slightly old fashioned type and has the conformation and movement to match his
looks, a true Golden Retriever. Well balanced with correct amount of bone. He
has the text book male head, strength and soft gentle expression. Straight front
with excellent shoulder and upper arm angulation, depth and spring of rib,
correct coupling, good bend of stifle, moved very well, a lovely type and unlike
so many he was fit.
2nd. Dulke’s – CH Fantango Purple Reign : Close decision between these two,
slightly younger therefore less mature on the day. Good bone and reach of neck,
well angulated shoulders, upper arm and stifles, slightly long in the coupling.
Moved well with level topline, hopefully will broaden as he matures.
3rd. McGrath’s – Ch Alnclair Rickys Revenge : Needs to body up to match his
frame. Good head with masculine expression, good reach of neck, shoulders upper
arm and stifle angulation all good, moved with level topline, just needs body
and coat to complete the picture.
4th. Yoshino’s – Ch Yellowfetch Olympic Gold : Strong masculine head, good
length of neck reasonable angulation shoulder and upper arm, needs to deepen in
rib, well bent stifles.
5th. Williams’ – CH Leanr Wickedn A McGee: Compact with good balance and well
angulated, was let down by his bite and cow lick.
BABY PUPPY BITCH
A very good class of pups
1st. Hession’s – Goldtreve Wild Hot Chili : Well balanced with good bone.
Pleasing feminine head with excellent pigment. Excellent reach of neck leading
to well angulated shoulders and upper arm. Good bend of stifle.
2nd. Batchelor’s – Kenzanne Hayley’s Comet : Slightly bigger framed and not such
a good bend of stifle. I would prefer more stop in the head.
3rd. Lynch’s – Yellowfetch Ice Maiden (AI): Another with a cow lick, pity,
strong head and excellent balance overall. Excellent angulation at both ends,
very nice type.
MINOR PUPPY BITCH
Mixed class who as a whole were wide in front on the move, four of them having
cow licks, on the plus side pigmentation was excellent.
1st. Stuckey’s – Goldkey Last Tango : Balanced with feminine head and
expression, straight front and good reach of neck leading to well angulated
shoulders and upper arm, good bend of stifle, good depth and spring of rib,
moved well with level topline.
2nd. Hanley’s – Sinderby Brandy Rose : Slightly longer cast body, head needs to
broaden. Well angulated and moved reasonably well with level topline.
3rd. Hanley’s – Sinderby Gypsy Bell : Similar in balance to previous two, needs
to broaden and deepen in muzzle, good bone and straight front.
4th. William’s – Leanr Luv Me Do : Well balanced with good bone.
5th. Lynch’s – Yellowfetch Tai Chi : Well Balanced with good bone, moving wide
both in front and behind.
PUPPY BITCH
1st. Clarke’s – Erkay Morning Star : Well balanced with feminine head and
excellent pigment. Good bone, straight front, good reach of neck leading to well
angulated shoulders and upper arm, good depth and spring of rib, well bent
stifle, moved well.
2nd. Walder’s – Buffalo Rustic Blake : Mature and balanced with excellent bend
of stifle, feminine head set on good reach of neck leading to well angulated
shoulder, neat feet.
3rd. Atkinson’s – Montego As You Wish : Slightly longer cast with good
angulation of shoulders, upper arm and stifle. Needs to deepen in muzzle.
4th. Foster’s – Justley Cherry Blue Skies : Balanced but needs more bone and
stronger head, well angulated front and rear.
5th. Kowalski’s – Ambervalley Verdis Aida : Well balanced, good angulation,
excellent head. Unfortunately today the eyelids appeared to be curling in.
JUNIOR BITCH
A class of varying quality
1st. Molnar’s – Dobro Delilah (AI) : Well balanced and mature, correct bite but
very tight. Strong but feminine head and expression with excellent pigment. Good
bone and straight front, excellent reach of neck and angulation all round, level
topline.
2nd. Jones’ – Jonesh Paisley Park : Balanced outline and carrying a very good
coat. Head could be stronger. Good bone and neat feet. Reasonable reach of neck
leading into good angulation of shoulder and matching stifles, slightly long
cast.
3rd. McLean’s – Kingsgold Special Edition (AI) : Scopey with good angulation,
she needs to deepen as she matures, straight front and reasonable bone. Head
strong and feminine but expression spoilt by eyes that are verging on almond and
set too wide.
4th. Dixon’s – Hobsonvale Neilla : Balanced but lacking maturity. Well made
overall would just like more angulation of upper arm.
INTERMEDIATE BITCH
1st. Handley’s – Giltedge Lady Madonna : Well balanced, strong but feminine
head, lovely expression. Straight front with neat feet, good reach of neck
leading to well angulated shoulders and upper arm, level topline and good
stifles, moved well.
2nd. Kowalski’s – Ambervalley Ye Banks N Braes : Close decision between these
two just preferred 1 overall. Well balanced with excellent reach of neck and
shoulder angulation, good angulation of upper arm, level topline and well bent
stifle. Balanced feminine head.
3rd. Stephens’ – CH Yellowfetch Splash Fcash : Well balanced with straight front
and good bone, feminine head. Well angulated shoulders, upper arm could be
better, good depth and spring of rib, well bent stifle.
4th. Jones’ – Jonesh Live At The Ritz (AI) : Balanced outline with good
angulation. Spoilt by tendency to tuck her head back throwing herself out of
balance, would prefer more breadth of muzzle.
5th. Hession’s – Ch Goldtreve Chilipepa : Balanced with good angles, slightly
long cast and lacking strength in head.
AUSTRALIAN BRED BITCH
Two very similar bitches head this class. Both are well balanced and angulated
with good bone. They have strong feminine heads, good reach of neck, straight
fronts with neat feet. The winner scored on her slightly shorter coupling, and
excellent presentation. I also just prefer her head and expression.
1st. Hession’s – CH Goldtreve Say No More
2nd. Dulke & Hession’s – CH Goldtreve Camrose Tango
3rd. Buffalo Kennels – Buffalo Spellbound : One of the few today who were well
muscled, mature with straight front, good angulation, would like to see more
stop in her head as it was rather flat.
4th & 5th again were two very similar bitches, slightly scopey outlines, good
angulation. Would prefer more stop and width of muzzle, also shorter couplings.
4th. Kaspura’s – Taransay Clementine
5th. McGrath’s – Alclair Lady Elizabeth
OPEN BITCH
1st. Dixon & Patterson’s – Euraidd Spring Time - CC & BIS : I would happily have
taken this one home with me, she has everything I look for in a bitch. Well
balanced and compact with excellent front and rear angulation, excellent reach
of neck. Beautifully balanced head with feminine expression. I would like darker
pigment but you can’t have everything. Correct depth and spring of rib, although
a touch well padded. Moved with drive and accuracy. Beautifully gleaming dark
gold coat.
2nd. Handley’s – CH Giltedge Tara Res - CC : Larger bitch but well balanced
although I would prefer slightly shorter couplings. Excellent reach of neck,
shoulder and upper arm angulation, straight front, feminine head.
3rd. Molnar’s – Dobro Eternal Flame (AI) : Very nice bitch similar in
conformation to 1st , just lacks maturity.
4th. Dulke’s – Ch Avonbreeze Prudent (AI) : Well balanced and angulated just a
touch narrow all over including head. I would also like her to have more bone.
5th. Pearce’s – Dobro Minthe : Lacking both coat and maturity.
Thank you for an interesting day.
